Case study: Improving the working environment at a fulfillment center

This project was carried to improve the working environment at a fulfillment center, where workers and forklifts are constantly on operation. In such an environment, ensuring safe worker movement and clearly separated work areas are essential.
More than just a collision protection
system, SWINGTECTOR helps define work zones clearly and separates the movement
paths of workers and material handling equipment, contributing to a safer
workplace.
SWINGTECTOR was installed three areas, with
each solution designed to meet site requirements.
#Section 1
Section 1 is a route connecting the
stairwell to the workplace. A double guardrail and two-ways door were installed
to provide safe entry and reduce the risk of collisions and other potential
hazards.
#Section 2
According to Occupational Safety and Health
Administration (OSHA), loading docks are one of the most dangerous areas in a
warehouse, about 25% of warehouse related accident. With both forklift traffic
and pedestrian activity concentrated in this area, the risk of collisions is
significantly increased.
To improve safety, double guardrail system
was installed to separate pedestrian walkways from operational areas. In
addition, dock gate is installed to control unauthorized access and clearly
define the workspace.
#Section 3
The last section is the mezzanine floor. Two-ways
door is installed at both the front and rear of the entrance to the improve
worker safety and control entry. Double guardrail is added along the side to
protect ground floor equipment and make a dedicated pedestrian walkway.
